Race to Deliver - 4 miles
I had a great run this morning for my 9th and final qualifying race for the 2009 NYC Marathon. The Race to Deliver is sponsored by God’s Love We Deliver, an organization that provides meals to people with HIV and other conditions that keep them confined to their homes. Check them out… they are a really good charity.

Training for a marathon last year gave me an under-appreciated obsession, numbers. When you train for a marathon, you monitor your numbers like your life depended on it (which it doesn’t.) Every mile I had to check my pace, heart-rate, total distance… try to correlate how I felt with where I was in my training program.
Now, I’m using numbers to motivate me to start running in...

I got to the polling station at 7:15 and waited for 2.5 hours and cast my vote for Barack Obama and change in America. (Oh, I also voted against Sheldon Silver because he’s the asshole who single-handedly stopped congestion pricing in NYC.)
6:30 Wakeup call - Take #2
Yeah, I actually managed to get up this morning at the mind-numbing time of 6:30 AM (mostly because of a full bladder, but hey whatever works, right?) I ran 2 miles on the treadmill and would have run longer, but I get really bored on a treadmill. 2 miles was about as long as my patience would let me run in one spot.
I also hit the rowing machine for a 500 meter sprint and did some bicep...
